Volunteer-powered hospital radio serving patients, staff and families across Wigan, Wrightington & Leigh — on air and online, 24 hours a day.
We are a Registered Charity (No. 1197778) staffed entirely by volunteers. We serve the hospitals in the Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust — providing uplifting music, bedside requests and community stories to patients, staff and families, and to hospices, care homes and the wider community online.
WWL Radio needs funds to pay for broadcast licences, insurance, studio repairs and upgrades. Since Covid, some grant support has dropped or gone entirely — every contribution, large or small, helps keep us on air.
Whether you're at home, in hospital or on the go — there's an easy way to hear WWL Radio.
