Welcome to WWL RADIO

We are a Registered Charity, number 1197778 staffed entirely by volunteers.
We serve the Hospitals in the Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, providing a radio service to the hospitals in the Trust, and to hospices, old persons' homes and/or similar institutions and to staff, relatives and friends of patients and the wider community via the internet.

We are looking for Radio Volunteers

WWL Radio (formerly known as Wrightington Hospital Radio) is looking for new volunteers to join a team of presenters and other volunteers.  The radio station is based at Wrightington Hospital and broadcasts to the hospitals of the Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and on the internet 24 hours a day.

No experience is necessary, just a desire to serve the community and an interest in music. All volunteers must be over 18 years of age.

We will meet up with you, show you the set-up and inform you how to apply to the Wrightington Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust to join us.

The Volunteers at the Trust were awarded the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service.

Wrightington Hospital Radio was supported with a Grant from the Big Lottery. 

Wrightington Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are also looking to recruit volunteers for a number of roles at the Trust.

Support Our Hospital Radio

WWL Radio needs funds to continue its important work.  These funds are used to pay Licences, Insurance, repairs, update etc.  Since Covid some of our support through grants has dropped or gone altogether.
