WWL Radio
WWL RADIO formerly known as Wrightington Hospital Radio is a self-supporting charity run by volunteers started at Wrightington Hospital in 1973 and now broadcasting to the hospitals and units of the Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, as well as on the internet.
Throughout the year we need to raise sufficient funds to cover our day-today running costs which include: insurance; licenses to broadcast; telephone and broadband among other regular on-costs.
Over and above that we need to raise funds to update and replace equipment and music, whether as CDs, vinyl or downloads. We are ambitious and keen to develop and innovate which also requires funding.
If you, or your organisation would like to help in our fundraising efforts we’d love to hear from you!
One way of supporting us is to donate directly to us by using our Donate page.
Alternativly you can dnate by cheque, made out to Wrightington Hospital Radio and sent to us at

As we broadcast directly to the bedsides at the hospitals 24 hours a day, seven days a week, we are in a unique position to offer sponsorship opportunities which will reach a “captive” audience. Many patients listen to and enjoy our programmes during their stay in the hospitals.
We are able to offer sponsorship of regular one or two hours programmes. The programme would be identified as in association with your company and we would play two or three messages during the programme identifying your company and its support of Hospital Radio.
If you feel that your company would benefit from sponsoring Hospital Radio or you just want to do something good for the community then contact us by letter to the Secretary at the above address or by email to wrightingtonhospitalradio@hotmail.com
If you are running an event which needs a P.A. system, then why not consider us. We are able to provide, for hire, a high-quality system suitable for a variety of events both indoor and outdoor. Whether the event is small requiring a pair of speaker, an amplifier and a microphone or one which requires a full stage set-up, we have the equipment.
We have providing P.A. systems for many events over the years including: Ogfest; Armed Forces Day; Lancashire Mining Museum Christmas Carol Concerts and many more.
Just get in touch and we can see if we can help.
Reach out to us for inquiries, requests, or collaborations, and let’s keep the music alive.
